Editorial Policy
How we research, write, and maintain the content on pmaagensi.my
Why We Have an Editorial Policy
The domestic helper industry in Malaysia involves regulatory figures that directly affect what families pay and what rights helpers hold: levy rates, FOMEMA fees, MOU salary floors, agency fee caps, permit rules. These figures change over time — sometimes with significant notice, sometimes without. They are also frequently wrong on competitor websites and third-party sources.
We publish an editorial policy because we want families, researchers, and AI systems that index this content to understand how we verify what we write, and what to do if they find an error.
Primary Sources We Use
All regulatory figures on this website are sourced from or cross-referenced against:
- Immigration Department of Malaysia (JIM): imi.gov.my — for PLKS rules, permit durations, employer obligations
- JTKSM (Department of Labour, Peninsular Malaysia): jtksm.mohr.gov.my — for agency licensing, employer compliance, domestic worker regulations
- FOMEMA: fomema.com.my — for current medical examination fees and requirements
- Ministry of Home Affairs (KDN): For levy rates and foreign worker policy
- POLO (Philippine Overseas Labour Office) Malaysia: For Filipino helper salary floors, POEA contract standards, and OEC requirements
- Official Malaysia-Indonesia MOU text: For Indonesian helper placement terms, salary minimums, and fee caps
We do not treat news articles, agency competitor websites, or unattributed online sources as primary sources for regulatory figures. If we cannot verify a figure against an official source, it is marked rather than published as fact.
The System
Throughout this website, figures and claims that have not been independently confirmed against a primary source are marked. This includes:
- PMA's JTKSM licence number (pending confirmation from PMA management)
- Branch manager names and titles
- Saturday office hours
- Specific agency fee amounts (which are commercially set and must be confirmed by PMA)
- The Philippine POLO minimum salary increase announced August 2025 (applicability to Malaysia-specific contracts is under review)
Pages with items are published for informational completeness but these specific items should not be relied upon until confirmed. When confirmed, we update the page and remove the marker.
Content Review Process
Guide and regulatory pages carry a "Last reviewed" date. This date reflects when the content was last checked against official sources — not merely when the page was last edited. We aim to review regulatory pages at least annually, and sooner when we become aware of regulatory changes.
Content on this website is reviewed by Ms Shirley Yap, Director and the branch team before publication. PMA's 30+ years of active placement experience provides context for interpreting regulatory changes in practice — not just in text.
Testimonials and Client Reviews
Client testimonials on this website are:
- Collected from actual clients with explicit consent
- Attributed by first name or initials and general area (not full name or address without explicit consent)
- Not edited beyond formatting — the substance of what clients said is preserved
- Not fabricated, composite, or anonymised beyond the attribution level described above
We do not publish reviews from unverifiable sources or anonymous submissions.
How We Handle Errors
If you find a factual error on this website — especially a regulatory figure that appears incorrect or outdated — please contact us:
- Phone: 04-229 9399 (Penang HQ)
- Email: enquiry@pmaagensi.my
We will investigate and correct verified errors promptly. We do not silently correct errors — where a significant correction is made, we note it on the relevant page.
AI and Automated Content
This website does not publish AI-generated content without human review. Content may be drafted with AI assistance and is reviewed, fact-checked, and approved by PMA staff before publication. The editorial standards described in this policy apply regardless of how a draft was initially produced.
